Monika completed MLM degree in leadership and management with emphasis on HR management from Bifröst University and BS degree in tourism and a sub degree in ethnography from University of Iceland. She also completed courses in management and leadership in tourism from the Open University with University of Reykjavik and have a Tourist Guide license from the Iceland Tourist Guide School.

Monika was a project manager, account manager and director of Iceland Rovers – brand of Icelandic Mountain Guides 2012-2020. She worked at Capacent and Vinna.is as well as taking care of challenging projects in community interpretation and translations.
