Inga holds a law degree from the University of Iceland and is a district attorney. She has consulted in the field of labor law, such as collective bargaining, reprimanding, dismissals and retirement, management training, policy formation, salary analysis and consultation regarding wage concerns, analysis of equal pay, formulation of equality plans, work procedures and instruction manuals. As an attorney Inga has handled various projects in the field of labor law, company law, law of obligations, administrative law and competition courts.

Inga has been a practicing Attorney since 2003.  Inga is the Chairman of the board of directors of TM Insurance since 2021. She served as a member of the board of Kvika Bank from 2011until 2021. She was a member of the City of Reykjavik audit committee and the Audit Committee of Kvika and Kvika Asset Management and the  Remuneration Committee of Kvika. Inga serves as a judge of the Icelandic Labor Court, appointed by the Minister of Finance. Inga is the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Reykjavik Municipality and has previously served on the Audit Committee of Reykjavik Municipality and its subsidiaries. Inga has been a lecturer at Reykjavík University and the University of Bifröst. Inga worked in the HR department for the city of Reykjavík from 1996 – 1999. She was a department manager in the labor/wage development at the Icelandic Steamship Company Ltd. from 1999 – 2003.
